About Collier Fruit Growers

Collier Fruit Growers (CFG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving rare tropical and subtropical fruit trees. We focus on education, propagation, and community outreach to encourage fruit cultivation in our region.

Our monthly meetings, held on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM (except August), are both educational and fun. Each meeting features a guest speaker, a tasting table with ripe fruit, a fruit tree raffle, and an opportunity to share experiences with fellow fruit enthusiasts.

Meetings are held in the Community Room of the Greater Naples Fir Rescue Administration Building, 14575 Collier Blvd, Naples Fl, 34119. (the entrance to the room is on the eastern most side of the building)

CFG offers an affordable family membership for just $15 per year, which includes discounts on organized trips and access to exclusive events and resources. To join, please send a check to:

Grow, Learn, Connect!

Mr. Ryan Czaplewski, the Interim Collier County UF/IFAS Extension Director and Commercial Horticulture Agent, will speak at the May 19th Membership Meeting on the various vanilla vines being cultivated in the demonstration garden at the Collier Extension Office. Ryan will discuss the implementation of the possible ‘best practices’ considered in the planting, growing, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing of the vanilla beans.

A tasting of early mangoes will be the main event at the June 16th Membership Meeting. Members are encouraged to bring several fruits of each of their favorite mango varieties and other ripe seasonal fruit to share with others.

A workday is planned for that Saturday morning, July 12th starting at 9:00, to relocate the Club’s Nursery to a slightly different position on the Collier UF/IFAS Extension campus including the provision of new shade covers and rehabilitation of the existing mist house. Afterwards the participants and their families will be able to join in a picnic lunch. This date is contingent upon having enough members to participate
